Fever hoping good display at Foxhills will inspire a hot run of form on The International Series

2024-08-09

Thailand’s Nitithorn Thippong was delighted to put himself in the mix for a shot at glory at International Series England, even though two late dropped shots threatened to spoil an otherwise solid 36 holes going into the weekend at Foxhills Club &Resort.

'Fever’, as he is popularly known, first burst onto the scene in 2022 with a play-off victory over home hope Ajeetesh Sandhu at the DGC Open in Delhi, and he hit the big time months later with a stunning victory at International Series Singapore on the Tanah Merah Country Club’s Tampines course.

He also qualified for the LIV Golf Promotions event in 2023 thanks to victory in the Mandiri Indonesia Open and is eager to get back on track in the series of elevated Asian Tour events that offer a pathway onto the LIV Golf League, after a difficult season outside the top-50 in all three events on The International Series.

He said: “It meant a lot to me to win on The International Series and before I teed off on hole one, I saw The International Series trophy and I was like, ‘I hope that I can hold that again!’ Here’s hoping, I just need to stay focused.

“All I can do is stick to my process which is to make sure I am better every day. I need to make sure I am working on my swing, and when I do something new, I need to stay patient as it is almost a case of taking a step back before taking a step forward. So, it is important to focus on my process and also work on the mental side of my game.”
