Four regulars on The International Series are participating in LIV Golf’s first ever reserve playoff, with a starting spot on the Iron Heads GC roster at stake this week at LIV Golf Singapore presented by Aramco.
John Catlin, Wade Ormsby, Kalle Samooja and Ollie Schniederjans go head to head in an 18-hole progressive elimination playoff at Sentosa Golf Club, with elimination for players after six and 12 holes.
The quartet are in a shootout to replace injured Japanese player Jinichiro Kozuma, who has yet to play this season for Kevin Na’s team.
American Catlin, the 2024 International Series Macau presented by Wynn champion, made six starts as a reserve last season.
Australian Ormsby, a two-time Hong Kong Open champion, was a full-time LIV Golf player during the inaugural 2022 Invitational season, and has played twice this season for Iron Heads GC in Riyadh and Adelaide.
Finland’s Samooja earned a full-time spot for the 2024 LIV Golf season through the 2023 Promotions tournament and played for Cleeks GC.
Schniederjans, the former top-ranked amateur player from the US, has made two starts this season in a reserve role after securing an impressive victory at International Series India presented by DLF.
LIV Golf Singapore takes place from 14-16 March on The Serapong course at Sentosa Golf Club, with International Series Macau presented by Wynn taking place the following week from 20-23 March at Macau Golf and Country Club.
The International Series is the most prized pathway in golf. It consists of 10 elite tournaments sanctioned by the Asian Tour and offers the year-long Rankings leader promotion to the LIV Golf League
